Good morning to all, gosh I enjoy this forum, the knowledge and feedback are great. I have a 2001 gti that I've just replace the oil lines and filter on. Is there anything special that needs to be done prior to starting the engine? I did notice that there is an air bubble or two in the smaller feed line to the pump. Should this be bled some how and what about the return to tank. Couldn't find anything in manuals that covered this. Thanks to all.

a nut on the pump, which the pump is located under the carb, crack it, to bleed the main feed oil line to it, then fire ski up, and while idling, hold the oil pump arm, fully open, to "purge" the little feed oil lines...

just did the same... read post "replacing oil lines"...basicaly if NO oil in lines you remove the hex screw on the front of the oil pump where the little lines come from once oil gets to the pump replace screw, start ski let idle and hold pump arm wide open you will see oil pulsing through the lines to the carbs then haul ass!!!

When you pull the cable the oil system goes to higher output than needed so when you get the smoke-filled room effect you know things are working well and the insect life will hate you for a week!

dats cool round my hood... after i did mine told the pest guy not to come for a month or too... lil misquito fogger, no biggy

Sounds simple enough, my neighbors should be thrilled, I'll be saving them money as well. Just to make sure I understand, the pump arm that's being referred to is the one also attached to throttle cable?

in a way... its on the fron t of the oil pump manifold... but yes with throttle wide open it should be too to feed oil.. let the ski idle then hold it open you'll see the oil pulsing through... if its not kill the ride!
