I am installing my rebuilt carburator on my 2000 seadoo GS 717. I cannot find the alignment marks for oil injection pump. It looks like they may have been painted over. I was just wondering if there was another way to verify that it was properly adjusted.

Thanks in advance

The marks are actually engraved into the stamping, if you can't see them either scrape away the paint or just paint where the marks are. Here's a picture. I apologize for the quality of the picture, someone else probably has a better one. kicker

I have a quick question, I have to identical machines. The both have the 717 engines. The jam nut on and positions on the oil pump alignment are different from one machine to the other. Is this possible shouldnt they be the same?

How much of a difference is it?

One inj cable could be slightly stretched. As long as the inj pump lever is lined up with the notch and it moves as soon as you hit the throttle you should be good to go.

That's minimal, you should be good to go. Don't forget to prime the pump.

Not sure if you did this but set your throttle so the cable is the right tension and pulls the carbs wide open before you align the pump. That way everything stays syncronized

Alright thanks kicker. I didn't actually take any of the oil lines off. So do I still have to prime the pump. All I did was just unhook the oil pump cable from the throttle lever. I can see oil in the small oil lines leading to the pump.

Sorry my bad, for some reason I thought you did the oil lines. So no priming needed.

Both are the same.
Bleed supply line with bleeder screw, be sure there are no air bubbles.
Close bleeder screw.
Hold inj pump lever wide open and start ski.
Let it run till oil fills both small line.
