I have oil in my return line, I might have cause this when I started my pressure check and did not have the the hose clamped. is this anything to worry about, or lill it just get pushed back in the reservoir when I start the engine after my rebuild?

I'm also getting some oil under my right engine, this is why I started testing my system, any suggesting where it could come from?

the oil in the rotary valve cavity will fill as soon as the oil is poured into the tank.

The leak could be anywhere. (sorry) Start with cleaning the oil, and hoses... then look a day later. It could be leaking at the rubber fittings in the oil tank, and dripping down the hose.

Thanks for the input Tony, sorry I should have been clearer. I did do a pressure test and had found a small leak at the oil tank fitting which I will address later, for now I have a rag arrount it so it does not make it down the hose. My question is there a specific place to look for an oil leak on the engine, it leaks when just sitting and its not coming from any of the hoses or where they attach.

You mention the rotary valve cavity, does the oil in this cavity sit against a seal or gasket?

The gears are in the center of the engine. There are seals all around it... but when they leak... they normally leak internal of the engine. If you have oil in the bilge, it's from a hose.

Ok I think I might of found the leak. On a related subject, is the oil hose (return) going from the exhaust side of the engine to the bottom of the oil tank suppose to be full of oil, or more of a vent line?
