I have a 1996 seadoo speedster that i just bought and am going through the whole thing so far i have re-built one of the 2 jet pumps and am replacing the carbon seals and most other components my question is i have seen two styles of end caps on the jet pumps, mine has short stubby black oil end caps and others have the longer black oil end caps, question is is there a difference? one of my caps looks to have a crack in it and i have a spare one i can use will it affect anything, i am think not but i think the longer one might give a nicer flow of water when it leavs the pump.
also when i put the jet pump shaft guards on should i cut them off at the hull area or not>
