I just replaced a top end on a 2001 seadoo gs 717. I took it for a spin today, it runs great and stays cool but i noticed the pisser (whats the actual term?) only puts out a stream of water at about half throttle and more. Any ideas?

The "Tell Tail" should have a steady stream of water at all rpm's. It is a indiciation of cooling water going through eh cooling system. You might want to check the system for any blockage. If it isn't coming out the Tell Tail, all the time, it isn't circulating the system.

I could find no blockages, I even pulled the exhaust back off to check the fittings. But I did notice I reversed the hoses on the back of the head, could this be a problem?

Yes, that is the problem... by reversing the cooling lines the coolig water wouldn't have a smooth flow of water causing it to slow down at low speeds. It could have lead to over heating condition at low speeds/ idle. Good thing you found it.

Glad it solved your problem...ok you can send me 1/2 the profit...

You should look into getting a 4tec model...they are real quick.
