Ok to keep things short, I flooded my engine with seawater and went through the flushing process and all seemed to go good until i tried starting it and found that i had no spark... After reading through the manual(after i flushed it OBV.) i realized that i needed to attach the spark plugs to the grounding plugs above the coil box which i never did. Soo what goes wrong with an ignition system when you don't ground the coil during cranking??? Blows the coil out maybe???.... Thanks in Advance, Oh and i have a 96 XP 787..

check the fuses, then if good, 12v light test the white wire at coil, while crank'n, see if it lites up, if so,then clip the plug wires and giv'ur a shot, if not lite up, then need to inspect the stator assy, or if your ski has the module mounted to underside of ebox lid, then replace it (igniter), BUT check fuses and connections first.

Thanks timmy for the response!!
Checked all the fuses and all were good, tested for 12 volts from the white wire at the alternator and i had 12 volts before cranking and dropped to a little above a volt during cranking, i tried again with a test light and it would lite but was very dim until just after i let go of the start button only for a sec. did it flash brightly, I read through the manual and performed all of the resistance test for the coil and it checked out and also resistance tested DC-CDI module and most of the tests came close to spec. but wasnt dead on??? Any thoughts would be appreciated!! thanks guys

Pulled the flywheel cover and inspected to ignition pickup and it looked OK, any means of testing the pickup??
