Ok im going nuts and about to go insane. I have replaced the coil and wires, cleaned all ground wires. Popped front cover off and installed a know working spark pickup, cleaned all those wires at the plug. Checked all fuses as well. Put the dess key on and got 2 beeps. I was excited......but still no dam spark. Tried new spark plugs, grounded it real well and nothing. WTF ? ? ?

i had the same problem...drove me crazy..my starter was old but worked. apparently it was drawing to many amps would turn over but not start...i had a new battery. but at my witz end i charge battery all night and installed. and it fired right up..you will get it process of elimination..

Are you getting signal from the pickup now via the test light test?

I tested it again last night and still no light. I need to start testing closer to the engine side. Any ideas or what wires to check?

They have a procedure laid out in the service manual but I've never had luck getting my readings to match up exactly.

It possible for the MPEM to do everything else but provide spark. That is the most expensive piece of the puzzle so it's good to rule everything else out first like your doing. I guess if you had another laying around you would have tried it already, right?

I have another 96 in storage thats mint and I hate the thought of even messing with it BUT it my be my last ditch effort to remove that MPEM and try it.

That a pic of how they route the wires and get some black zip ties so you can put it back right. It's easier to just unplug the whole grey box and try it but then you still don't know if it's wiring, CDI box or MPEM. It would rule out the ski's harness and the rear E-box though.

I don't have a CDI, this box had an enhancer in it. Pay for shipping out and if it works, gimme some more. If it doesn't, send it back

Well still no spark, I cut off all connections and soldered new ends on, tested the new spark pickup via the steps in the manual, tested the coil. All checks out. Going to borrow that whole E box from fitty650sx and hope that fixes it. Need to find a CDI for a cheap price just to cover all my bases.

Yea it was a PITA. Probably because there was more than one issue going on which made it hard to narrow down.
