No power

My 2001 GTI stalled yesterday while riding. But when I tried to restart it didn't beep nor does the gas guage light come on. When the start button is pushed there is no clicking sounds at all. I did find a 5 amp fuse to be blown but I still had no power after replacing it. Does this sound like it could be caused by a faulty DESS? I did clean the lanyard but it still doesn't work. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My 03 GTI did that when I hooked up the battery backwards.
What I found, lift the bow storage hatch and remove the cover on the rear inside, there are wiring plugs, unplug the single black with purple stripe, get a couple of meters of spare wire and earth it between the battery and the unplugged single plug that goes out to the left side of your boat looking forwards. I don't know what caused you to have this problem but this fix got me going I set it up with a switch and hasn't missed a beat since. The dess key still works the same when my earth is on. It's basically an ignition switch.

Thanks for the reply. I had checked the fuses in the front compartment and all of them were good. What I didn't know is that there is another fuse in the the real electrical box. I found a 15 amp fuse blown in the electrical box and everything is working properly now. Thanks for the help.
