No oil flowing ?

I finally got my Jetske to run after a while. I figured out my fuel valve is the issue that’s not allowing the gas to flow properly. However now I have a question or a doubt. When the ski is running should oil be seen flowing through the oil lines as it’s running? If not does that mean I have a bad pump? I was told not to run Pre-mix because the pumps are pretty solid. However this is the first time I run mine in a very long time so could it be that it’s just out?

The oil pulses very slowly, especially at idle so you can't actually see it moving if the lines are full.
If you have air in the lines then that is a different issue.

Ok that’s a start. Next question , I’m a rookie at this, how do you take air out the oil lines and from what end cause if i take off the line that goes from the engine to the oil filter oil spews out. ‍♂️

I get some fairly large bubbles in the large oil line to the pump. they just burp out. I had bubbles in the small lines during the assembly of an engine. I took a drill and ran the oil pump until there were gone. I think it would be disturbing to have them in the small lines!
PS I have never seen a SD oil pump fail.

In my opinion you should open the bleed screw at the oil pump for 30 seconds or so while it leaks oil to ensure there's no air in the line to the pump.

Then I would premix a little bit of fuel in the gas tank and start the engine. Once it is running, I would hold the oil pump lever full open to maximize the amount of oil the pump is sending to the engine.

I did this on my recent revival of my 96 and it worked well. I had transparent lines so I could see the pulses of the oil pump through the lines. About 15-20 seconds of holding the lever full open got oil to the engine.

Just to clarify, I would only mix a gallon of premix. You only need enough to verify you have oil from the pump to the engine. Watching the pulses come through the lines was actually kind of cool lol. They move like half an inch at a time when holding the lever wide open

Not sure if it is the "correct" way but I replaced all the oil lines on my ski last year when I replaced the oil pump that was on it, I just held the pump fully open and cranked the ski with the plugs out. Seemed to work fine. Just did it a little at a time as to not overwork the starter or the battery.
