I just bought a 1998 seadoo gtx about a week ago now and it ran but would bog when under load so i cleaned the carbs and replaced all the fuel lines. I added another fuel filter near the carbs so i could check to see if i was getting fuel and i am not, i pressurized the gas tank by shooting air into it, and still nothing. so i then decided to take the fuel valve off and clean it and i ran it through my ultra sonic cleaner and shot it with air, and the air went through with no hesitation so i put it back on pressurized the system again i got fuel to the carbs so i started it and let it idle then it shutoff due to no fuel again not sure what else to try does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you

Not an expert but others that have more knowledge that I have will say pretty much the same. Get rid of the inline filter you added it is not needed and usually ends up causing more problems then it solves, I would rebuild the carbs with genuine mikuni kits only aftermarket kits are junk. I would replace the needle and seat as well. Keep springs that are in the carbs as the ones in the kits are usually not the right ones. Replace the fuel selector it doesnt usually respond well to cleaning again OEM only and replace fuel strainer o- ring. Follow the sticky on this forum for rebuilding carbs and should be good to go. OSD website has a back to OEM kit that you can get to ensure your carbs are back to OEM parts since it is a new to you ski

all of the diaphrams in the carb were like brand new the guy i bought it off of said the ski was serviced earlier this summer and im guessing it was rebuilt and the lines were not changed which gummed everything up again

Sounds like fuel pump not drawing fuel to carbs
Check the fuel/air line to crankcase is not blocked and good clamps and tight on fittings as the pump works from the vacuum being drawn from the cylinder when piston moves upwards

I would get rid of the shut off tap altogether and use the reserve line only from baffle and blank the normal line at baffle connection

You would just need to learn how far to go on tank of fuel

Jet skis are designed to run full throttle for a period of one hour

so what do i do with the extra lines that went to the fuel valve? block them off?

Fuel valve has three lines
One from valve to carbs
One from valve to baffle marked res (reserve)
One from valve to baffle marked normal I think this is the one you block off
Run a new line direct from baffle marked RES to Carb where the line from Valve was connected

You are now running direct from baffle to carb

I would replace the fuel valve with a new one and get rid of your additional inline fuel filter.

You will want to have a reserve if running low on fuel as well as a way to turn the fuel off for storage.

im gonna try running straight from reserve to see if the valve was the issue and then if it is im gonna replace it.
is the fuel pump located inside the carb or is it inside the gas tank?
