no compression. HELP

I have a 2000 GTX. My daughter reported a roll over, got it back up, and said it ran ok the rest of the day, but, next trime out ran bad. She brought it home and I verified one cyl no compression. I found the RAVE big spring on the dead cylinder broken. Replaced the spring and ran it. Still bad and no compression.

Got some knoking going on also.

The thing has always had oil in the hull also. over the winter, the tank will drain, any hints?

if you have no compression in one jug... the only thing you can do is take the engine apart, and rebuild the top-end.

BUT... since you have been running on a dead jug... You will probably need to rebuild the crank too.

sounds like you snapped a rod remove plugs and turn engine by hand and see if your piston moves but sounds like you need full engine rebuild

The only way to know how detailed is to open the top end and observe the remains of the rotating parts, if you know about the oil seepage this means the crank seals and has nothing to do with flipping over, the compression was prolly going soft also, the best thing is to ride out the moisture and it sounds like that went well, the motor must have reached the old age home doorway.
