New owner of 2003 Sea Do GTX 4-tec SC. I am very mechanically inclined, but never worked on sea doos, impellers, jet pumps, etc.
Heard rocks banging in intake on first launch from beach. Afterwards, the PWC wouldn't accelerate quickly (it seemed like the motor was reving but wouldn't go into gear (I realize these don't have gears so I assume it was cavitation caused by the rocks damage to the wear ring)), and it wouldn't go above 30 mph. I have done some research and have a few questions on this problem and one other.
I read some parts stores support the site – Which ones and do they carry OEM?
I have read the pump seal gasket and carbon seal should also be replaced, is that true?
Any other parts besides the impeller removal tool.
I hear the ceramic washers on the 2004 SCs can be a problem, can someone verify this is not a concern on the 2003s? Anything else I should do preventative maintenance on.
Another issue, the ski took on quite a bit of water just sitting while waiting to trailer it(15 minutes)? Do these not have bilge pumps? What should I look for as far as areas that are prone to leaking (with pictures or links please).
