Newbie mistake... 2 stroke oil

First post, and regrettably it’s a mistake on my end.

I have been going to the forum for a few months just reading and learning. I have a 1998 GTX limited, I just recently got it running good, after carb and mag work. I purchased it from my wife’s grandma and it ran great previously. I drained all the old fuel that was sitting in the tank unused for 6 years. Cleaned filters and lines. And I was so excited to put her on the water I purchased the wrong 2 stroke oil. It runs a premix system with the oil injection pump block off kit. I used 91 octane, and twc 2 stoke oil.... I have about 10 gallons of this stuff in the tank. Do I need to drain the tank and use the proper 2 stroke oil? Or will I be fine with using this tank up and using correct oil afterwards?

Mistakes made out of excitement are the worst...

Thank you everyone!

Unfortunately you need to drain the tank... The API-TC additive package is not always compatible with the TCW-3 additive package, so it’s possible to cause significant felling of the oil when they’re mixed...

So running it as low as possible and than using the api oil in will gum up, even considering it is premix?

It's the wrong oil. Consider the cost and time to drain vs potential life-shortening impact to the engine from running it down.

Not worth splitting hairs, I drained when faced with a similar decision.

Yes, the ski will be fine but what we are saying is there is an issue mixing the two different oils even though it is premix.

If it was me I would run the tank as low as you can then try to siphon out the remaining "wrong gas" before refilling with the correct premix.

I would also mix it at about 40:1 minimum.

Awesome, thank you for the advice and clarification!
