Newbie Maintencene question

got my first pwc an 07 seadoo GTX 155 with 26 hours.

Dont know anything about them. What needs to be checked at this many hours?

Local dealership wants $190 for oil/filter/spark plug change/general tuneup - is this reasonable?

Is it possible to do the oil change myself?

Any advice?

you can download a user manual or a full shop manual, both will have the maintenance schedule.

All those things can be easily done by you for half that cost assuming you have some mechanical ability. A user manual will be a lot of help.

I have a 2007 too and have owned it for less than a year. The oil change/spark plug was the first thing I did and didn't take it to a shop. You will have to buy a few things (such as a pump to take at oil) but it wasn't to difficult.

the dealer quoted me 125 for just an oil change... but im doing everything my self on my ski.. best bet is to grab a shop manual and take a look at that.. believe it or not youtube helped a much also..

with the 215 engine there needs to be an oil change around 25 hours so if its the same maintainance schedule your pretty close..

being that new to you i would change everything anyway to make sure you start off maintaining it well..

It's really easy actually just very time consuming. I guess it all depends what sort of vacuum pump you use to suck out the oil. Mine is a cheapo hand pump that takes quite a bit of time but end result is the same. I should have one shot and edited in the next couple of weeks. I'll make sure to post it up here and maybe get it a sticky at the top for future inquiries.

So far I have used the dealer.

End of the season I have the oil changed and winterized both skis. Right around 300 dollars for the pair.

I would like to do it myself, I'm just so busy with life in general it seems.
