newbie: 96 GSX guages

Hi guys im craig, new to the forum
got a few dramas with my new seadoo gsx (1996 model)

the tacho does not work, what is the best way to diagnose/repair them

also


engine doesnt seem to want to rev much above idle, and blows a heap of smoke (oil pump disconeccted and running 50:1) would this be a carby related issue.

undo the clip,remove red/black cover.Remove the 2 allen screws,carefully try to unseat it from engine without destroying the cardboard gasket(Razor blade Helpfull)Pull the complete valve completely out of engine,remove the nut from Guillotine valve and pull it out of assembly and clean the heck out of it.Place back in assembly,don,t forget the little O-ring on Guilotine shaft,check the red/orange rubber boot for holes,re-assemble,do second one.Hole process for both Valves approx 15 to 20 mins.(Make sure they go back in same way out with tapered end of valve pointing right way,pay attention)
