new vin and title

hi

i recently bought a seadoo rxp that was from a police auction, im trying to find out how i can get a new vin tag and title for it as it came with neither. as it was a stolen ski, ive had the computer checkd for a vin number and owner details but it also had been deleted, i got new keys for it and owner details changed into my name but im missing the vin tag and title still and i would like to get it all up to par.if anyone can give me some helpfull info be appreciated

Welcome to the forum..this is the place for any jetski questions.

Police Auction.....that's one way to get a new ski. Probably at a good price too.
Hopefully it's in good shape and the thieves didn't ruin it in any way.
Try calling BRP (Seadoo) and ask if a new tag can be made. You can try giving them the engine serial number, maybe they can match it to the hull number.

police auction is awesome i got this ski for $6000 nzd around $4000 usd so i think thats a great price. and damage was to the jet unit some dumb theif had sucked rocks into it and wedged them in there. ate threw the wear ring and all lol.. little ****** i have contacted brp seadoo and am waiting for a reply about what to do. and the engine number also has been removed seems they thought of all evidence to ensure previous owner details wouldnt be found. i hope i can get it re vind or wat have you seems a waste otherwise

The Police auction you bought this through can't give you any guidance? I'm sure they go through this all the time with recoveries.

One thing I can tell you is that you will never get the original HIN back on that vessel. Like a car, once the number has been removed and logged in the system as a theft recovery, salvage, write-off or other badging, that number will not go back into service.

I wouldn't waste your time with Seadoo. Contact whoever the Governing body is for registering vessels in your area and explain the situation to them.
