I just bought 2x 01 GTX DI see-doo's yesterday. They have about 100 hours on them. I am soooo excited to get out on the lake!!!! I have a question.... Are the oil tanks on these really prone to cracking? The guy that I bought them from had 1 tank replaced already. I was just curious. Thanks

Welcome to the seadoo forum Cody. The oil tanks aren't really prone to cracking, but if you do a lot of jumping the full injector tank is going to take a pounding, and could cause a crack around the attachment point which is where it is bolted on the hull. Make sure the attaching bolts aren't too tight to compress the plastic. A larger stainless washer under the bolt head will add support to the bolt head too. Snug the bolts down and keep an eye on them before you go riding for the day.

Right on thank you sir! Well i'm going to install a new tank on 1 of them today. it kinda looks like a pain, but im sure I can handle it lol. Thanks again for all of the information!

You might have that old injector tank plastic welded...yes welded...look in the yellow pages under "plastic welders" they can repair it and it will be good as new.

Well I replaced the tank last night and I must say what a pain in the arse!!! The only thing that really screwed me over was the damn fittin gon the bottom of the tank. Boy let me tell you there is NO room any where!

Whatsup man. My girl and I just bought an '00 and '01 GTX-DI as well (Blue and Red, respectively - see my other post). We're heading out to the lake for the first time tomorrow. It's still a bit chilly for riding, but we can't wait anymore.

Funny things happen when it starts to get warm and you have a seadoo in your driveway. The weather isn't a burden anymore.:)

HEh ya thats just like me right now. I woul dbe out on the lake right now but I have a wedding to go to this weekend, but i'm still gonna try and squeeze them in on Sunday lol. Is there any 1 on here that lives in AZ and goes out riding?

I feel your pain - I had to go out of town for work a couple of days after I got mine home. The Sea-Doos ran great today, btw. Fast little buggers. Wasn't all that cold - water was 63 deg F, 75 or so outside. A little chilly getting them off an on the trailer.
