New to PWC. Just bought (2) GTR215's

Bit late for looking for and asking advice seeing as how I already bought them. But anyways I just purchased two GTR215's (2013) still in the crates. Deal was too good to pass up and they tossed in a four year warranty.
My concern is that these machines may be a bit much for my wife whom I bought the second one for. I am hoping I did not buy above what she can handle and I am wondering if anyone else has a girl that rides these well?

I am located in Greece, NY and will mostly be using these in lake Ontario. Purchased at Fowlers marina is Sodus NY. We bought two of the GTR and one RXT-X for a friend of mine.

Also is it true that Sea-doo has extended the Supercharger Maint life to 200 hours from 100 on the new models due to improvement on parts?

Congrats the GTRs are nice machines my riding buddy has one and loves it.

If you're worried about inexperienced riders give them the learner key. Read the manual regarding the learner key I believe you can set up different parameters depending on the riders experience. I would recommend a S/C rebuild at 100hrs or two years. The problem is when a supercharger fails it can do a lot of collateral damage that can cost big bucks to fix it's cheaper and easier to be pro active and get the S/C rebuilt before it fails.

don't worry about the wife, i bet her car goes 110+ but never exceeds 80. same for the ski, it might hit mid 60's but doesn't have to go that fast....

with that said... it corners pretty hard, i've seen experienced riders get tossed when hitting a turn at speed, so let her get used to it.

nice ski's, even tho i'm no a huge fan of the transformer look, IMO the gtr is overall a very nice ski, and really, how can you go wrong when dropping 20K plus on a couple of toys ?

IMO with your short riding season the SC issue is a non issue, for quite some time, enjoy the water !

Congrats on the GTRs. As far as your wife goes, don't worry about it. Keep it out if Sport Mode and the GTR is very easy to handle and smooth on acceleration. Also as mentioned above, just because it can go 60+ doesn't mean she needs to. I would be proactive on SC maintenance though. Seadoo does claim a 200hr service life on the new SC but I'd still be more comfortable doing a full rebuild at 100 or every 2 years. It's cheap insurance compared to what it can cost if one does break.

Thanks for all the great feedback and advice. Yes our season here is short but I intend to make the best of it. The only thing I have done thus far was to add to boarding step on the rears and also depth finders.

Congrats on the purchase. Nice skis.

My GTX ski not only has the learner key but also "sport" mode. By default it starts in economy mode. So in economy mode with the learner key it accelerates slower and tops out at 32 MPH. I assume your ski will do the same but don't know that for sure.

With 5 year warrante go with the recommended 200 hr recommended rebuild and hope it grenades itself while under warrantee
