ok, hello guys i am new to the forum. I just purchased a 2000 challenger 2000 240 efi at auction. i got a great deal on it but it needs some work. i have been readint the forums and geez these little motors are complicated. when i purchased it the motor was already out of the boat. it was insurance owned the description of the damage was water/flood. i am guessing something happened to it and the shop diagnosed it, and insurance totaled it.

so now i have this engine outside the boat, and it has been sitting in the elements for a while. what can i do to see how bad of shape it is in outside the boat? all of the components are in the boat such as the fuel, starter and hoses. Is there a good manual available for these setups? i am familar with car engines but never worked on a 2 stroke before. just trying to figure out a plan of attack for this project.
thanks, joe

I have a similar situation

I purchased a 2001 challenger 2000 with a cracked block or so I'm told and have had no luck finding a replacement or an answer as to whether or not a different motor will work with little modifications....so I hope someone can help us........
