Hi everyone,

I'm all new to this so should I ask any stupid questions my apologies in advance.
Just got me a new Doo, and would like to know of any specific does n don'ts, as well as has anyone had any major prob with this model.

Have a great day All

Haven't heard boo about your year/model, sorry.

As far as tips....common sense and adherance to a safe boating course will go a long way toward enjoying your ride...safely.

Thanks red2blue, I have only done a skippers ticket so far but will investigate further for a more detailed safety course. Where I am is remote so not much for choices. I already had one issue with OTAS hence why I putting feelers out.

Should anyone else have any knowledge of this model it would be much appreciated.

With regards to winterising my ski will only get used once a month each month (closest water is 450km away as I live in desert), will I need to winterise or will the ski be ok. Closest service to me is 1100+ km away.

Cheers Karl

You've got a new ski, so you don't have much to worry about by 12' the rotax guys have pretty much ironed out all the bugs. Since it is new, and did get shipped quite a distance. I would just check that all hoses are tight and fasteners are tight. If your going to use it that little, I would fog the engine after each use. Basically the exhaust systems is cooled by lake water and it gets pumped through the entire exhaust system and intercooler. It's bascially 100% humidity in this system, so when your done with it I would start it for a few seconds on the trialer out of the water. This will blow out excess water so it isn't sitting in your exhaust system for months on end. If It were mine I would also fog the engine after every use, just in case all the water didn't get out. You're exhaust valves are exposed to this 100% humidity ... so you don't want them rotting out.

So you would spray the fogging agent in the connection where you put the garden hose to flush out the exhaust after every use. Would that be correct.
Thanks in advance

See the thread above for fogging procedure. IMHO though I would just run for less than 15 seconds on trailer to blow most of the water out.
If you are taking the fuel rail off monthly to fog, I would bet eventually you are going to wear out the mounting holes torquing and retorquing. If you go the spark plug route I think you are less apt to have a problem but according to others that does not distribute the fogging oil as well.
