Ok.. So I am planning for the install of the system and was wondering if i could get some insight as to what would be the best location based on actual sound output... at first i thought it would "look best" by putting them up front in the bow area where you step in the boat but then i started thinking that i am going to be drilling the holes anyway so i can put them anywhere i want.. and i saw some other pictures that had the speakers in between the far port seat adn rear facing port seat and then 1 on the startboard side down under the steering console.. i am mostly looking to have the music while underway at high speeds not so much into anchoring with the music going.. at least not yet anyway.. so i was just curious.. what would be the best spot for speakers.. again i think appearance wise they look cool up in the bow but im starting to think that for actual sound reasoning having 1 on the port side in between the far port seats facing the driver and the other speaker under the steering console facing the ports side might give more sound to the rear where passengers will be sitting..

Here is a picture with my famous "X marks the spot" routine... the black x's show stock speaker location, the red x's show where i wanted them mounted in the bow and the blue x's show where i am thinking they might give more sound to the passengers.. of course i could always just put rca y cables on and split everything and put speakers in all of those locations??? hmmm.. that would make a sick audio system... but no no no.. what am i talking about lol..hmm would that work though.. i mean i will have the alpind 4.100 and the alpine 5m amps.. i could throw the 4 speakers on the 4.100 and then use the 5m for the sub and another high high output set of speakers.. idk.. sounds tempting but probably way too much wiring lol...

I think the blue x's would sound much better. If it was me, I would put subs in both sides and then 4 more smaller speakers..lol...But thats a lot of holes to put in a new boat. Start with adding 2 speakers where the blue x's are. If that doesnt sound good enough for ya, add more. You can actually put 2 speakers on each channel of the alpine amps. No need to split anything with y cables. They are all rated to 2 ohm's so no big deal.

Another place even easier than those, the walk through area, where the storage compartment is and then on the other side of that walk through area. I added green X's for ya.

yea i think the blue x's would sound good but im just nervous because im a big guy and there isnt much room against that starboard side wall.. i mean the factory battery swithc is located down there and i always have my leg up against the wall so i fell like that would be useless because my leg would be right there muffling it.. another idea is maybe doing 5 speakers.. doing all the locations marked with the exception of the starboard side.. might look a little unbalanced but idk..just dont want to kill the speaker ouput.. i mean the 5m amp puts out 75rms per channel and the speakers i bought can handle 100rms.. so iguess ill hve to see.. maybe ill just mount 2 in the stock location, 2 in the bow and leave the sides open in case i want to put a sub in or something.. i mean the stock speakers arnt horrible.. i can hear them while underway just not clear.. so i will be more then doubling the output with just 2 replacment speakers hooked up to the amp plus the additional 2 speakers in another location.. so i cant see that i wouldnt hear it no matter what.. i think even with just the 2 speakers amp's i will hear mroe then enough.. but i guess its just a matter of seeing how things go...
