Here are my old plugs. They are the original plugs. Right 3 are 2009 RXT-X 255 and left 3 are my 2010 GTX 155. Bought both skis new untitled in 2011. Both skis are just under 100 hours.

I have run only 93 octane fuel in them. Yes, I'm sure the gas costs me more, but when I see the condition of the plugs the extra cost of the fuel is well worth it,,,,

I don't have a photo of mine, but they look very similar, maybe a little more cocoa color. Just changed them when I was getting the 2011 GTI LTD 155 ready for the water. It now has 153 hours. I ran plain old 87 octane pump gas for the last year.

I would bet that 89 is perfectly fine,,, But,,, I was told to run 91 or better in the ski and it is in my manual as well. So I simply buy the best the pump has to offer.

I owned two 2-strokes (Polaris) for 11 years. Ran Polaris Gold Oil ($50 a gallon) and 91 fuel. I NEVER had a single break down. Replaced the plugs once in all that time and they looked new when I pulled them out. Never even replaced a wear ring in those skis,,,

Wow. My manual says 87. I have tried the 87 pump gas, the 89 pump gas, the 93 pump gas and 90 non-ethanol. I could not tell / feel any difference.

It's my understanding that if the motor is set up for 87, then any increase in octane does not matter. If the manual says 89, I would not run less.

I have been using the 89 non-ethanol to help prolong the life of the fuel system. I have not read good things about ethanol. If I remember correctly, it was not in wide spread use when my boat was manufactured... So, I am sure the lines were not designed for it.

I think for the 155 models, then 87 is just fine.

for the SC 255, I run 93.

I think Spim is most likely correct. I do what I do as I fill them up at the same time. Easier than shutting it off and restarting with a different grade.

Do you feel that the 93 octane is better than the 89 non-ethanol?
Hell no I super respect coastie and his info and what not but I run cheapy ethanol and mine look almost the exact same unless your ski has a blower on it and it needs prem I really don't think you get any benefit! just my opinion
