Hello All, Just wanted to say that I love boating! I bought my slightly used 2005 Seadoo 180 Challenger 3 months ago. Since then, all I do is take the boat out whenever the weather permits. Yard work is getting done during the week now, lol. No regrets. Living the good life. Thanks for adding me to the seadoo community.

Welcome to the seadoo forum Zwill. My yard work gets the same work pattern too during the week so I can spend more time on the water...

Welcome to the seadoo forum,

Glad to hear you are getting lots of use from your jet boat! Great fun.

Question for you...I have a 2005 18ft Challenger with 215hp. On take off it seems as if the boat does not have enough power. The RPM's hit 8000 and the boat almost sounds like it is cavitating or has someting stuck in the intake. My dealer said it could be the wear ring which has been replaced...did not make any difference.

Do you run into this problem with you boat?

When running full open what are your RPM's at??

Thanks,

Richard

Slow Response

Richard,
I have the same problem w/mine. I was thinking about changing out the prop and/or throttle cable. At times, it jumps up to 8K RPM's. It doesn't have any giddy-up but once it gets going it runs fine. @ Max throttle it normally sits @ 7-8K RPM's.

Zwill,

Thanks for getting back.

If I find a solution will let you know.

Hopefully changing out the prop and/or throttle cable will work for you.

Let me know how you make out.

R.
