New member and I already have a question

[Buckeye lake Speedster]

Hi, my name is Mike (first post). I recently purchased a 1996 Sea Doo Speedster, Super clean boat and I'm looking forward to getting it in Buckeye Lake, probably this weekend. I would like to fire it up at home before going to the lake, but I wanted to know about starting it on the trailer. I see hose connectors both down at the lower stern near the jet drives and also on either side of the boat under the engine cover. Can someone please tell me the procedure for starting this thing out of the water, and where I should hook up the hose? Thanks in advance.

This procedure is all over the forum, in many different places... But, one more time never hurts.

The ones you see by the pump, is your water outlet lines. Your back-flush connectors up top, under the engine hood, is "t-d" into that line. You'll want to use that hose connection under the hood. When you have the hose connected, start the motor. Once the motor is running, turn the water on. You don't have to turn it on full blast, but enough to see water come from the "tale-tell" hole. Your excess water pressure will come out the other connector you saw by the pumps. Each connector up top, goes to each engine. Don't try and run them both at the same time for now. Just do one at a time and dont' run for more than a few minutes. Turn the water off first, then shut down the motor........cheers!

Thanks, Snipe. I did see this issue addressed a couple places but not exactly (maybe a different model, etc.) and I wanted to be double-extra sure I was doing it right because there sure seems to be a lot of threads about people screwing up their boats. Looking forward to hitting the water Memorial Day weekend - looks like we are getting a break from Monsoon Season.
