Hello all,
I am new to this site and I love it!!!

I am possibly going to purchase a 2013 RXP-X and would like to know your opinion. First of all my plans with the ski is to ride hard and fast and enjoy the corning with the new hull. I would also like to use the ski to tow every now and then. I would be towing beginner to intermediate boarders and solomn skiers. I know this is not the ideal ski for towing and that if I want to tow I should buy the Sead doo Wake. I want the best for riding hard but would also like the ability to tow now and then.

My question is, with this beast can I tow a boarder?

FYI , I tried the search the forumn but did not have much luck. I did come across the thread wake vs RXT but I did not want to hijack his thread.

Any information would be much appreciated!!!

The RXP is an advanced ski and do not recommend it as your first. Otherwise pulling a boarder up isn't an issue, but I would recommend the ski mode module. I got the ski/cruise control/slow speed module installed in my 11 RXT-X and it really makes a difference bringing the skier up, and also takes a lot of the footwork out of getting up to and maintaining speed. The only negative thing about towing with the RXP is the low mounted towhook. Not to mention the small seating area for your spotter.

Thanks for your response! Actually this will be my third. I have a 96 and 98 xp. Thanks for the info on the ski mode module. I will look into it. Hopefully they sell one for the RXP

Pulling a wakeboard on any ski is going to be a bit of a challenge. If the wakeboarder is strong he'll be able to pull the back of the ski sideways considerably. That would happen with any ski but especially a two seater. Obviously not much of a wake for a wakeboard to jump from but for occasional towing it will do fine. There is a pylon made that mounts by the step up handle in the back. It would be worth getting that if you find you like pulling a board more often. http://store.sea-doo.com/category/5/Accessories There is even a board rack. Not sure if there are any available for the PX yet... http://store.sea-doo.com/product/614602/295501037/_/Wakeboard_Rack

PWC Muscle can find out and get a price for you.

The new RXP-X I just plain awesome. Since you have some riding experience I suggest 2 mods for you. One, the override module to allow you to defeat the limiter and reach its full potential and two, a ski module for pulling a wake boarder. Not the ideal ski for that (none are for anyone that really gets aggressive) but it will do. I've pulled everything from tubes to wake boarders on my 08 RXT and it can do it but a boarder does pull the back end in every direction almost at will.

Haha! That was my thread you were talking about! No Worries. Here's more info for you... The RXP-X has the T3 hull. It is different than the RXT-X. It does not have the area on the stern below the seat to bolt on the ski pylon. It has a more aerodynamic/ windswept surface than the S3 hull. I was comparing both models at the dealer side by side. The S3 hull is used on the WakePro and RXT and many others, it has the surface configured for bolting on the pylon.
So, that's why i bought the RXT-X and added a bunch of stuff to make it a WakePro RXT-X 260. The dealer called today, said it just arrived. :)

Hey 911 you might want to check the laws in your state concerning towing with a two person rated PWC where I'm located your ski has to be rated for three the driver, spotter and the person being towed. in case they have to get on board the ski.
