I current purchased a 2003 GTI LE with that 717 motor in it. I bought it knowing water got into the carbs but it still wont start. When starting the crankshaft tries to turn but locks up and the Seadoo gives one beep. when spark plugs are out it fires a water oil mix from carbs and motr. There seems to be no cracks in motor and everything's in great shape. where should I start? Ive got 750 bucks in it so far and wouldnt want to go over 2000...

Didn't you just post the same thing in another thread? It gets confusing when 2 threads are started on the same subject

Well, the good news is you have to get enough of the water out by cranking it over, so that it won't hydraulic. This will take a while, until enough is out that it can turn and the plugs don't get doused with water. Then you have a chance to get it running if you really want to.

Use a large car battery for this, your amall batteries can't take the punishment it's going to receive. Also, try not to overheat your starter.

The bad news is, the crank bearings are probably already rusted and corroded so if it does start and run there is a very good chance it will soon grenade. Core value tends to depreciate when/if an engine grenades.
