I purchased a new set of carbs for my 97 Gsx and a new single carb for a 97 Gs. Installed carbs on both and both ran like crap. I finally opened the carbs up to find that they had 95 gram springs in them. I replaced the springs with black springs which I believe are 80 gram out of some old carbs and now they both run perfect. I post this because I checked everything else on the skis which was a good bit of work before I checked inside the carbs. Just wondering if anyone had a similar experience or any input on the matter.

Did you verify the correct jetting and needle and seat too? You can’t just slap new carbs on. You need to make sure they are jetted for your application.

Yes everything was to spec except for the spring. Haven’t had an issue since changing springs. Plugs are a nice brown color. They start right up in the water. The carbs were set up model specific. Just wondering if there was any reason they would use the other spring.
