Hey there, I’m building new engines for my challenger 1800 787 and I just put one bottom end together last night, it went together ok but the crank has some resistance to spin over offer lightly torquing the case together is there anything specific that can cause this? Thanks guys

Did you oil up the crank/journals with your burn oil? It should turn pretty freely by hand, even after putting on the top end. Also check the balance shaft and maybe put some 30 wt. in that side of the case.

Did you have the locating rings in there home groove?.one of them may not be in,,tap them in with a flat punch and plastic mallet...easily over looked...
Split the cases,,,clean the surfaces with acetone/gasket cleaner,,,no harsh abbrasive,,,and retry...the crank should spin freely without pistons in a cylinder.
