new 2000 xp owner

hi everyone- just got my jet- ski registered and about to get new battery-never been on one but i liked the way this one looked so i bought it!known issues-battery failure-toast! gas gauge doent work either?heard it run when i bought it and it ran real sweet-i have a good ear for a heathy motor- this one ran real nice!i ripp down high-ways at about 140 miles an hour on my r6=yahmaha motorcycle-its all about speed for me-any tips on how to solve the current issues?is this considered a good jet-ski?

Hi and welcome to the forum I have a 00 xp also and love it you want to check the fuel lines if they are the gray tempo lines you want to change them clean or replace the fuel selector and clean the carbs for the fuel gauge I would unplug the sender and jump the harness side of The ski together the gauge should read full that will verify the wiring and gauge work then remove the sender and make ohm it out if it's open then there is a way to repair it in the how to section

hey kozer!thanks for the info- guess its a good ski? what type of fuel lines should i get and how fast is this ski?how do you clean the carbs?

I love mine it does around 55 I think not sure never gps it u can use regular black automotive fuel line its 5/16 and 1/4 inch if i remember correct prob like 10ft each and I would change the jet pump oil also before the season

hey kozer! thanks for the info on my xp!-want to change my jet pump oil- kinda stumped to where it is? thanks and had a blast first day- it ran great and kicked ass! just want to keep it that way---66 miles per hour-zero effort! wow!
