Have a friend looking to buy a pair of 03 GTX Di’s and double trailer. One runs and other has a noise??? I’m familiar with the 787,717 engines not this DI though, from what I see on the forum there kind of a stay away machine is this true . $2500 for the setup. Thanks guys

I see from the forum that these DI skies are nothing but trouble. Think they would be a big can of worms. Thanks guys

Ok that’s cool thanks, just found a recently listed one 2003 4-tech black and yellow non super charged, heard some things on those. Any.thing I need to look for on these?? Asking $1500

Just like everyone said before, if you are going cheap, stick with the old carbureted 2 strokes, if you want 4 strokes you pretty much have to get brand new

I would look really hard at the Seadoo 4-strokes. Don't get me wrong because I bleed seadoo yellow and own 7 of the 2-strokes but the 4 stroke seadoo's are just not what I would consider reliable. If anyone asks me what 4-stroke to buy I will always reluctantly say Yamaha. Seadoo's might be faster but the Yamaha's are much more reliable.

Dam 7!!?? You have a favorite? I’m not to familiar with the Yamaha family any insight what to look for? Thanks

Not to derail too much, but for my own knowledge why is this? I always hear that Yamaha 4 strokes are more reliable but I never hear the specifics. All I know is the old 2 stroke stuff

Seadoo always builds fo the most power and new tech and as we all know with more power comes less reliability. Yamaha builds a true marine engine with sacrificial anodes and coatings to resist corrosion. Yamaha has always put reliability first and performance second.

I personally know two seadoo dealers that are fed up with seadoo reliability. One of them recently dropped seadoo watercraft because they could not keep up with the repairs and warranty work and they were already selling Yamaha's which had very few if any repairs.
The other dealer has been selling Seadoo's since the 90's and stated that the only reason he continues to sell the watercraft is so that he can keep the Can-Am line and if he could he would drop the watercraft immediately due to poor reliability.

Also look and any rental fleets, they are always Yamaha waverunners. There must be a reason because purchase price is the same a seadoo, also look here at the forums and see all the issues with the Superchargers, valves, hull cracking and bubbling and Spark driveshaft failures.
