I'm trying to figure out why I lose spark when I take my thumb off the starter button.

Engine is good and runs great
MEPM is good
Starter button good
Teather good
Kill switch on handlebar is good
Solenoid is good

What else should I be looking at ?

Prethanks!

Johnson rods good
Flux capacitor.... fluxing
Desifecter good....

Desperate to find a cure and put it away for the winter ....

lol...yes dude...runs great with my thumb pushing the starter button down and holding it down. ..... of course while the engine is running the starter is still engaging... when I let off the starter ,it loses spark, and engine stops running. ....what'cha got

So yesterday I spent the better part of the day in the garage looking at wiring diagrams to no avail.... electrical issues are not my forte...
The wiring inside the gray box for the most part looks like it has been undisturbed except for the previous owner had upgraded the starter relay ( solenoid).
During yesterday's progress I was able to identify a bad ground and when I completed fixing that, I was able to turn the engine over by pressing the tether button down which was obviously frustrating..
Then at another point I was able to have the engine start to turn over by simply connecting the battery !!! which again, was another set back. All in all, at the end of the day, I was able to get it back to where I started .....by being able to run the engine over, start and run, with having my thumb on the starter button which is not what's supposed to be. :not-amused:

Think I'm going to revisit this issue in the spring....stay healthy
