Need new engine

Hey guys
I am in need of a new engine for my 1995 boat. The question is :
what is the difference between 1995 and 1996 Seadoo Speedster engines.
It seems to me that 96 and 97 are identical. And if they are different can I use it (96) in my boat (95).

I don't know the boat, but I suspect nothing. There are just a few engines (717, 787), the boats change around them.

two main diffrences 95 has a simplified version of an MPEM and 657x/ 96 has the DESS system and 717. I just learned from a wise man the 717 will bolt right into your 95. If your going to get a new engine then you have two choices SBT or upgrade to 717 cause 657x parts are discountined and are very hard to find
