I just picked up a used ski that hadn't run for a while - no battery either.
So I replaced all the gray fuel lines with new - cleaned the RAVE valves and cleaned the filters in the carbs.
I set the high speed adjuster to about 1/8th open and the low speed adjusters at 1 1/2 open
After churning it over on the starter for a while it fired and I had fuel spurting out of the return pipe before I reconnected the pipe back to the tank
On the hose the motor runs very unevenly - it will idle at about 1500 rpm and after about 30 secs it revs on it's own to about 4500 rpm - stays there for about 30 seconds and then returns back to 1500 rpm - repeats it for as long as the engine is running.
No water or exhaust gas leaks.
Any thoughts on what adjustments I need to do or where to start looking.
I'll try and get it on the lake as soon as I can to see how it runs there but my other XP that I rebuilt the pipework and carbs on recently runs really well on the hose and on the lake so I think that this one just needs a bit of tuning.
What would you do next?
