My problem is my 98 seedoo challenger port motor will not turn over. It does not make a sound. Initially I thought it was the solenoid, but before it went out, I noticed while running at just above idle power, the RPMs would shoot up. The motor also reved up by itself. It did that several times. now nothing. Someone help, before a mechanic hammers me with an outrageous bill.

Remove the spark plugs and see if the engine will rotate over by hand at the rear of the engine by the Jet pump shaft It should turn counter clockwise. If you can't do it by hand use a pipe wrench , being careful not to hurt your hand or the Hull of the boat. It might be seized up if it doesn't turn over, you'll have to take the cylinder head off and see the damage. If it does turn over, open the mpem box and jump across the starter solenoid with a 14 guage insulated wire. If it turns over then the solenoid is bad.

Keep us posted on your progress.
