I have a 2001 LRV thats cutting out after it hits about 35 MPH. Does great out of the hole, then starts lunging. Plugs are new and gapped correctly, Fuel filter is new. noticed oil leak under the oil pump. could it be sucking air from the leak casuing it to run poorly?

I'm absolutly not a mechanic and I dont play one on TV. :)

Hope ya'll can help.

Not yet.. wont be able to until the weekend. It's an hour away from where I work at my other place. Please tell me this.... If the voltage regulator/rectifier is putting out too much voltage, how will that make the ski "lung" at higher rpm's? Blast off is good, steady increase in spped is good up until in the 30-40 mph range, then WWWAAAA,wwwaaa,WWWAAAA,wwwaaa
(like that typed description LOL).

BTW.. yesterday after thinking back at what all i've looked at, etc. when i replaced the fuel filter and cleaned the bottom of the bowl, i noticed that the bowl gasket looked like it was flattened out, and frayed around the edges. Yesterday afternoon I bought a new bowl with a good O-ring.

My thought was maybe at higher RPMs, it might be sucking some air around the older frayed O-ring gasket???

any thoughts on this theory?

Its inna sense like this, when your rectifier goes south, its not converting the ac to dc. In comparision, drive your truck/car under a bridge with radio on, and how you get static thru it, thats the same scenerio withj bad rectifier.

I still havent had the opportunity to do the test. I cant visually see a rectifier also. I looked around the MPEM area.... not apparent to me.
Is it in the Real electrical box? Thought the two coils, and starter relay was in there. was going to pull the red wire test this past weekend and couldnt find it.

kit

unfortuntly, the carbed 951 mpems are incorporated into the mpem. If it is faulty, there is a kit, that has an external rectifier, and ur ski back to run'n.
