Need help to decide ? 2001 Sea-Doo Utopia 185 or Sea-Doo Speedster SK 1999

Both are in great shape and about the same price 5100 and 5400 .. both look like new ex cond ...

I have never had a jet boat just a jet ski .. grew up on a old ski boat with my dad best times ever now a new single dad want to make some quality time with the kids like I had ..

Any help would be amazing ..

Id go for the utopia. I have a 2000 challenger with a merc and have had zero problems with it. I don't know anything about the twin rotax. I assume the utopia has a merc?

The Speedster SK has twin 717's, I'd look for a non SK Speedster with 787's (mine really flies) or I'd go for the Utopia simply because it has a windshield. At high speed I hafta wear goggles.....good thing I can see okay without my glasses, because they dont help shield your eyes from the wind..... dont get me wrong, I love my Speedster (it's a yellow 1999), but some protection would nice at the speeds this thing can reach.....

I'd call around to see if anyone in your area works on them still. I ended up with an 04 Sportster 4tec since no one was willing to work on anything more than 10 years old in my area. So far very pleased with our purchase.

2 different boats IMO.
the utopia is more like your typical lake bowrider. sea ray crownline cobalt ect.
the speedster is more like a big jetski.
you're going to get wet in the speedster, its going to be a rougher ride.
you can also toss the speedster around like a toy boat.

depends on what kind of boat you want, i don't think you'll go wrong with either.
