Need help asap

Had my 2001 gtx on the water today ran great for a few hours than started dying for no reason and when this happend the gauges went blank. Took the key fob off and reinserted and the machine fired right back up. Sometime 10 seconds sometimes a min or two it would run fine than it would do the same thing over and over. ????? Anyone had this happen ever???

Could be a key or DESS post issue. Clean them with a pencil eraser for a start. Could be on the fritz

I took that out and cleaned well with a rag made no difference

Is this a 951 DI ski?

Even held the key on there tight and didnt effect it at all....

Yes sir it is non fuel injected

If the key or post is going bad, holding it on there tight or cleaning it will not fix the problem

I have an 01 RX and took the key from it and tried it with no difference.

Are they programmed the same?? If its the post it will not matter what key you use.

When you say a min or sometimes 10, do you mean that the engine will turn over just not fire or do you get no response at all from pushing the start button?

have u had this issue before? My first thought was the computer but thats a 500 dollar guess lol the keys are programed??

Yes, I had a post go out on me. The ski would randomly die, put the key back on a few times and it would fire. Same thing over and over. Replaced post, no issues at all

No response after it dies no power have to take key off and put back on and sometimes it will just set there and beep wen u try to push start and u have to take the key off again and it will crank over just fine and fire right up. but than it will run perfect for one to ten min and shut back off again and screen go blank.

Deff sounds like a DESS post issue to me

Id almost be willing to bet its a DESS issue really
