Necessary to dry start after being on water all day?

Really, I am short on space... The public ramp is 2 miles away from my home. I do have my uncle's place 300 feet away but he would go crazy if I was to get down on his beach every day with my ATV and trailer. And I have no one to drive my SUV there on a daily basis. Out of luck. Even bigJake solution does not fit. My beach is not even a sea-doos's length deep... I am stuck to a steep cliff. 44 steps to walk up at 45 degree angle.

This is the stuff I am looking at: http://www.techedon.com/2012/03/15/design/design-floating-dock-system/

There are some here on my lake. Will try to post a picture.

I don't have any experience with that brand but I have my boat and Sea Doo on the candock brand. (I know it's time for a new cover) if you look at my avatar you will see it uncovered.

How deep is the water at your place? You might be able to make something like BigJakes but in the water. Make the bunks rise above the water but not connected to the bank. You could plan it where it would connect to the dock you haven't built yet. It wouldn't have to be fancy. IF your water level is really consistent you could even build it out of pvc pipe and have it just lift the ski a little. Just throwing some ideas around .

I can't have BigJake setup: not enough room, but I am definitely aiming at JJinSC setup. I would need one section of a non floating dock (wood, aluminium and plastic), and a second floating one of about 10 feet each. Then I would attach my ramp to the dock. I haven't checked the prices yet but I assume it will go over 2,000.00$ with all hardware.

The dock would not be larger than 36 inches or 48 inches and then it could be dismantled in fall time and brought up my stairway during winter because here, the lake is freezing deep (like 3-4 feet of ice) and in the spring time, the whole think would be torn apart by moving ice.

I am attaching a photo of my place. All I have is the stairway and the stairway corresponds to the width of my land. This is why I am very limited in my options. I was hoping to have that next year but now, with my sea-doo rebuilt, I am afraid that it will have to wait longer.

I forgot about the ice. The pvc plan could still work if you were having trouble with seepage through the carbon seal but you are not so good luck with it next season.

Yeah, lots of ice. More than three feet on a cold winter (last winter was four feet). And it will crush anything in April when it melts and moves. Hundreds of docks have to be pulled out of the water year after year. Then by January 15th, I ride the lake on my ATV...

I am not going to worry for this year because starting next week, it will not stay in the water anymore (after labor day). And because of mechanical problems, it has been mostly out of the water in the past three weeks. Depending on the weather, I may take it down for a few rides but water starts to get cold quickly. Usually, by October 10th, there are no more docks and boats on the lake.

Lac-Simon is a beautiful lake with crystal clear water. It is very deep (up to 450 feet deep). You can often see the bottom even at 15 feet deep and even see fishes swimming. Some people take their water from the lake and drink it.

Here is another picture.

We don't have that problem here because of the purity of the water and the temperature that stays low at 10 feet and down. The bottom stays at 40 Fahrenheit year round. No critter came from other lakes. Same for algae blooms.

That youtube video has a really light weight solution for future consideration if money were tight. I might take something like it camping.
I know I am hijacking the thread so this is my last post about it.

Sorry, I do not have enough beach depth to even take my sea-doo completely out of the water. I have 4 acres of land, but not on the water... My water space is 15 feet wide in a cliff.

How deep is the water in front of your 15ft of shoreline?. You can use the PVC solution to lift your boat out or keep it at positive buoyancy without attaching it to shore.

I'd say that the front of ski would have to be at least 20 feet away from the shore. At 20 feet from the shore, I would have water up my waist. Another issue is the vase and clay. The bottom is very soft. Not unusual that cement blocks would sink in 6 inches down (this is why I was looking at a floating dock with rods).

To me it would be worth it to recover the Ski ( put on a trailer ) and take it the 2 miles to my Place / Cottage.
This way, it's out of the water and safe at my place. No danger of sinking or having damage done. We drive at least 20 miles to our favorite lake and back each time we take them out. Most times all summer long. Sometimes We drive 35 miles to Lake Erie. I just have a problem letting it bob in the lake / water. Too many things can happen to it. Crime may not be a problem there. But it does happen everywhere in the world anymore.

I hear you, but: I am all alone by myself, wife is disabled, cannot drive, no kids, no close friends by. Uncle is over 80 years old. How am I supposed to drive a ski and a truck at the same time every day unless I walk four miles between the two places? Crime here? Not really. But be careful for you ATV though in the winter time (I have five surveillance IP cameras). I would have to be really really unlucky since it is in the water at my uncle's place, and the neighbor on one side is my aunt, and I am the other neighbor.

Lac-Simon is a pretty quiet place when I come to think about it (a lost corner of Quebec province). And there are much more nicer rides to steal on the lake!!!

And as I said, when comes the time to take it out of the water, my ATV at my uncle's does the job. Anyway, it's been broken for one month, just got it back today! And I am here for one week (whereas almost everyone else is gone...). But my uncle lives here full time. And everyone is checking my ride all the time: it's right there in their faces.

Dock is for next year. And after next week, my ski will be out of the water during the week. Getting cold here, after september 7th, it is getting hard to ride a Sea-Doo. Too cold. First freeze happens beginning of October...
