Hi, I'm looking for a narrow two-place trailer to hold two 1996 XPs in a single garage. Magneta Trailers makes one, but they don't seem to be a large company and the cost plus shipping seems steep. Has anyone tried a Magneta trailer or know of a good narrow two-place trailer that will work in a single garage?

Most trailers are built to max legal width, 8' 6", which ideally you'll have a 10' wide garage door for. Most double ski trailers are actually framed as small boat trailers, to make manufacturing cheaper. I've seen some nicer doubles that are shorter in length than the boat frame ones, but I've never seen a narrow double... If you really, really, really (really) want to make it fit, what if you built a trailer and turned the skis sideways?

You will have to find an older used two ski trailer like the early 90's ones. Anything newer will be built to handle the larger 4-stroke skis.

You can always find a flatbed trailer and get some bunk rail kits. That was the cheapo path i took to get my double trailer. Still not sure how skinny of a trailer your going to find that will fit both skis.20210414_185137.jpg

There's a Magneta brand of trailer that is narrow enough. Its kind of expensive though.

Ugly but it works.

It's a 4x8 heavy utility trailer with a bolt on deck that is 8' wide. A couple of 4×4s with an angle cut on one corner and some utility grade runner carpet and the sled hauler just became a DOO hauler.

I built mine from an old load rite single ski trailer and found a used up double ski trailer for parts. A welder is a must . A lot of the bunk mounts were bolted to the donor trailer, but there was no place to bolt them to the trailer I was building. The trailer holds the center of the skis just inside of the tires. I did have to remove the fenders to get the skis low enough to launch. I still have to extend the tongue to keep the truck out of the water, but the trailer pulls great, and holds a 2000 GTX limited and my 96 gsx or the XP .
