MPEM's interchangeable?

Can a MPEM from a 1999 SPX with the 787 engine be used in a 1997 GTX?

yup, but info center wont work.

Just installed a 97spx mpem/grey box, inna 97gtx for troubleshooting.

By info center, I'm assuming you mean the gauges. Do you have any idea why it won't work? Does it have something to do with the way the MPEM is programmed or is each part number specific to a particular model?

your working with 2-different mpem connections. The spx, if anything like my 97, is in the grey box, with wires prtruding from it. The mpem you got now (97gtx), all wires go to 3-big plugs, that connect "to" the mpem. Unless you spend the time, figuring what color wires go to each gauge...fuel/oil,...etc, then i would nt worry.
