I disconnected some plugs going into the mpem to check for any water in the plugs and when I reconnected one of them it made a loud beep or buzzing sound. this only lasted about a second. after this I turned the engine over and still had a strong spark. this only happened one time and does not happen when connecting the battery could this be anything wrong or is it normal?

What model of DOO is this? Did the noise come from the mpem or from the buzzer/horn up in the handle bar pad?

it is a 2002 Seadoo xp the mpem is part number 278 001 526 it sounded like it came from the mpem itself but it wasn't the same tone as the one in the pad. the battery was connected and the key was not in it. is there any way to safely test the mpem without any potential of damaging it?

Thanks for clarifying. I am not familiar enough with that generation of DOO to offer accurate advice. Hang out and others will chime in.
