im new to the forums, but i have a 95 seadoo xp. i was having charging/ battery issues and using a battery charger jump started my seadoo a few times.. i know i know your never supposed to do that, but i did and think i screwed myself. I got the ski started and running for a few and then all the sudden died and i have nothing, did a few checks, swapped battery, and eventually found that i had popped the 5 amp fuse on the mpem. i replaced it hooked everything back up and it popped again. i did this a few times, once unplugging what i believe to be stator wires, and also the vts, it still popped. everything i have read says its the mpem, there is a guy in texas that says he repairs them adds a new little part that they should have had in the first place and its all good. but its $220 plus cost to ship it to him. i dont really know what to do at this point, i havent taken it to local dealer or anything i usually do all my stuff myself. im really curious to know if anyone has suggestions or any knowledge of weather i could repair it myself and reseal it. or am i stuck with sending it away.

there is a diode, i can't remember the number, but there was "short-cut" taken when they made them. when that diode gets "over-voltaged" it "pops" that diode, thus causing the 5 amp fuse to keep blowing. brp found out about this flaw soon after the skis got out into the public. their fix for it was simple, instead of issuing a mass recall and replacing all the defective units; possiably costing millons. they issued 10 cent stickers for dealers to attach as well as putting it on all new unit being prodused. it simple read: "do not jump battery while installed in craft"

Great fix, huh?

anyway if your handy with a soidering iron, there are how to's about how to do it on this forum.
