MPEM for 1997 GTX

When you press the start button, you get nothing....gauges don't work, engine doesn't turn over, etc. We've replaced the buzzer and the DESS post already because they tested bad.....thought we had the problem fixed, but no go. The engine will turn over if you bypass the MPEM by connecting a wire from the battery to the start switch. Power seems to be going to the MPEM, but through it to the start switch. The fuses are good so it just seems logical to think the MPEM is bad. Do you have any other suggestions?
