i am looking for someone in the Houston area (preferably SW Houston) who can program a MPEM for new DESS keys on a '97 SPX. The dealers that I have talked to said that they no longer support the older skis. Anyone have any suggestions? I am trying not to have to pull the MPEM and mail it off... Thanks in advance!

I can't believe these shops won't even program a key for the older skis. People in my area have been experiencing the same problem. No support at all for the older skis. Perhaps they make a lot more money with the newer skis. Sad.

It is sad the lack of dealership support. I have seen the ebay guy...I was just trying to skip the whole mailing it off thing. :(

I had my local Sea Doo dealer tell me they are hit an miss with programming new key for the old ski's. Hard to believe there CANDO machine has trouble when the have the ski there in shop. He told me of a private shop that can do them. I need to get 2 done for the ski here. 1 for a spare and to replace the 1 that is nothing but a 6 foot piece of nylon string.

If your DESS cap is still good, you can buy just the lanyard portion.
Lanyard Clip

My DESS cap is still good. All they had at the Dealer was new DESS with lanyard. I looked at the lanyards at West Marine and they were cheap made plastic coil with a high price. I been browsing the net just have not locate one that looks like it will hold up vey well.
