hey guys i am going to be putting the motor back in my xp thursday or friday, just going to do a rundown and make sure i got everything please add if i dont

Engine
seadoo alignment tool
shims
wear ring
impellor remove tool
exhaust gaskets
block off plate
oring for the jet pump cone


i know i need coper sealent for the exhaust, but anything else? i am having to switch to block off plate, i think that had something to do with the motor blowing in the first place, spun the pump with a drill and the oil hooked up and nothing eever came out.... that being all said, what gear oil can i use locally for the jet pump and do i use some type of sealent when putting the jet pump back againts the hull... thanks in advance guys, this is my first time doing all this so hoping it comes out good.
 
Black RTV for the pump on reinstall...make sure you scrape all the old stuff.

Make sure to take the little plastic thing out from behind the oil pump.
 
Little plastic thing? Okay just regular black rtv? Do I leave the wire that hooked to the oil pump there or does it pull off Carbs somehow.
 
There is a little plastic thing that connects the oil pump to the crank. That has to come out.

I would also RTV the seal between the mag and the mag cover, and a ring around the starter.

Yup Black RTV. The squeezey cheese style can of RTV is the best ever. Worth every bit of $20.
 
Oh okay the plastic gear thing. Ya its out. I used it to hook to drill to determine the pump was bad. The starter is still going to be hooked to the motor I got so that's a check. I did remove the vts to clean up better n see if that motor was bad so will have to silicone that back........ sorry but what's the mag?

Okay cool I will get the rtv tomorrow. Is the wear ring the only seal really that goes between the hull and jet pump.
 
He would be referring to the Magneto System.

ahhh okay cool so the cover for the flywheel then, cool well i got all that down on my list too... anything else?
