I have a 2005 also. I will quote you from the owner's manual: Function Buttons: Different displays and functions can be activated by using 2 buttons - MODE and SET --- following specific sequences as described: Resetting a function: To reset a function (such as the trip hour meter,distance, etc.) press and hold the SET button for 2 seconds while in the appropriate mode. DISPLAY SELECTION: Repeadedly pressing the MODE button scrolls the following displays: Compass, tachometer, speedometer, average speed, distance, hourmeter, water temp, exterior temp., depth gauge and trip hour meter. When you are satisfied with your choice, stop pressing the button and it will become active. The display will remain until it is changed.
I think you can purchase the manuals on E-Bay for a minimal cost. It is well worth having the manual.
