That's the one that my brother in law (Pravius) and I were going to look at last Saturday. I was just in Hale the previous weekend and wish that I'd known about it, I'd have stopped and looked it over. I thought about going to check it out this weekend, but I'm going to OH to check out a 96 XP for the same price.
 
Problem with this thread is anything that is posted in detroit metro will usually be flagged within a couple hours. I think someone is using a cl bot to flag all seadoo listings. Its been like this for well over a year. There is even a guy that will post that he flags the seadoo scammer guy from clinton township and tries getting others too as well. I would like to post a couple good deals on here but know it will be flagged by the time it gets viewed by forum members. There was a 99 spx in awesome shape for $1200 2 weeks ago. The guy just wanted a larger gtx and thats why he was selling it. It was mint.

you could possibly copy and paste the info in the link, that way the contact info, if any, is still there. there are some guys who are able to copy the whole ad from their mac, i've only been able to copy the link without the pics

i would be all over it if it werent snowing up here right now....i ran out of space in my garage with other projects and i dont wanna keep them outside.....im building another polaris SLX 800 right now so all my time is in that....
 
I'm trying to contact that person with the 98, with the "locked up" motor. They said that it makes a "click", so I'm thinking starter issue. I want to try to turn over the motor bu hand and see if it budges at all.

I'll post back if I can get in touch with him and let you know what I find.

Interesting. The way he writes the ad it sounds like it isn't his or he bought it and now is offloading it.
 
are the people that ugly up there that there are no working cameras? i don't know what it is about boat ads, but people seem to hate posting pictures of their junk. "Ultra RARE whiz-bang 1 of 300 boat, its red, 35k firm no emails no text" If i'm thinking of spending 35 large on something, i'm going to want a pic of it before i come look anyways, so you can post it in the ad or send it to 11ty people that will email asking for pics.

I had wondered that too. I wondered why he would buy a ski with a blown motor and then not be sure what is wrong with it. Or maybe he was going to replace the motor and just decided to get rid of it instead. If the motor turns by hand, and the rest is in good shape, I thought about offering $600 and see if he will budge at all on the price.

The guy who I contacted about the XP that I just bought in Ohio was kinda vague too when I asked questions about it. I asked if it ran, and what the compression numbers were, and he said that "he didn't know anything about all of that". As it turned out, he was trying to get it out of his polebarn and it belonged to his daughter, whom was the real pseron selling it, he was just trying to move the sale along because he needed room, so he was answering the text messages because she was at work. lol This could be a similar situation, but not sure, he hasn't replied to my text.

That's a good question and the answer is most Michigan-ites seem to hibernate for 7 months so during the summer, there isn't much to look at on the lakes. I have nicknamed them MAM's or Michigan a$$ Models. Goes for both genders.

That guy with the 98 xpl isnt budging off his price. He thinks he has gold. It is seized. Maybe after a couple weeks he will budge. Hmmm end of the season, locked up motor, 15 years old. Yup id say hes holding out for that certain sucker he can trick by saying maybe its just the starter.

I appreciate the offer but right now I need to take a break. Thought this would be a good complementary ski. A little bit longer than mine for 3 people and double trailer to boot.
