I figured I would start a new thread on my boat issue. Today my father-in-law and I pulled the carbs apart. He is a engine guru of all sorts, especially with carbs. We found the diaphram on the MAG side to be warped. (thanks Seadoo dealer...they weren't that way when they went to you) Being warped, there was no movement allowed from the spring and float. Got that straight and richened up the low and high speed a little more just to be safe. Boat runs better but still bogged a little on the low end. Plugs were equally black! Awesome. At least I know they are getting fuel. Might have to dial back the low and high speed. Ran low on fuel and switched to reserve and boat wouldn't run. Was getting dark so loaded up and headed back home.

1. Get home and find MAG side rave valve was leaking oil from the top of it. These are brand new. What can be going on here?

2. Boat will not pull fuel on reserve switch. I connected the fuel line to the carbs to the reserve connection on tank baffle and boat started fine. My question is, "why won't my boat run on reserve"?

I think I'm making some headway with the carbs but the leaking rave ralve has me concerned.

As always guys...thanks!

I usually hang out the side when adjusting the low speeds, but your way looks like less brush burn on the stomach, gotta try it:rofl:

SO it wont run on reserve, but will throught the tank baffle? If so sounds like the two are switched.

Make sure the rave inst installed upside down, there is a hole that needs to be on the bottom. Also check the o ring for brittleness/wear.

There is no easy way to do this. lol I usually lay my throw cushion across there if I'm going to be that way fro extended periods, which has been the case these days. My scrawny arse will fit back there with the engine and I've gotten good at becoming a contorsionist to work on some things.

It was getting dark and I was not able to dig to deep into things. I did pull the cap off and the spring under it was fine. These are new and just curious if this is an o-ring failure or something more drastic.

As far as the reserve, the lines are all where they are supposed to be. I'm going to pull the selector when I get home. I don't think any issue is in the baffle because going directly from there to the carbs worked fine.

Make sure the hole in the rave housing is on the bottom, it lets the exhaust pressure into the bellows to open the valve, ites easy to put in upside down.
