Marine Oil vs Conventional Oil??

Whats the difference besides a new sticker and a higher price? Will standard synthetic oil work with non supercharged engines? I just bough a used sportster and not sure what oil has been used in it.

You spend a lot of money on a nice boat. don't skimp on oil and maintenance.
