I have a 2004 RXP (240 hours) and it dosn't seem to be firing on all cylinders. I take it out and it runs rough, only getting 30 mph! I changed the plugs and the spark is good on all three cylinders. I took off the fuel rail and pulled all the injectors out and turned it over and all injectors are shooting gas. When the machine is running, I pulled the leads off the spark plugs (one at a time) and # 2 and #3 cylinders almost killed the engine but #1 didn't change the way it ran at all!! So I'm thinking theres a problem with #1 cylinder. What other checks can I do to find the problem? has anyone ever had this problem? please help

Start with doing a compression test and see what you get. If that seems fine try swapping the coil from one of the other cylinders and see if the misfire moves with the coil.

Aaron:cheers:

last one we did measured 150 psi
yours is super charged ,right?
if so did you check the S/C for proper output?
are you holding throttle wide open when doing compression test?
pull your oil filter and inspect between the pleats for metal debris
any thing funny happen to ski before this all started?
need to know

-Yes it's S/C. I havn't checked the S/C charger yet.
-135 PSI is normal for the RXP I've been told.
-When I did the commpresion test, I did it both ways and the results were the same.
I was out ripping around two weeks prior to this happening. The boat ran awsome. The one thing that happened was my low fuel buzzer ran about 4 times (was having way to much fun and didn't want to come in) but I didn't run it out of fuel. Thats why I was thinking injectors. I put the boat in the water two weeks later and that when it all happened. It was right at fire up I didn't know anything was wrong but when I got out of the marina and hit the gas it ran the shits. Lucky I had the other boat on the trailer, so I was still able to get a good ride in.

me still thinks 135 is low on compression, i got one in now that the guy sank, and we got readings of 150 150 140 on the same year ski
but anyway your compression is way off the mark
but check this
start the engine and grab the S/C output hose and rev engine
this hose should swell up in your hand due to the increase in boost
if no swell, then your S/C has gone bad
if it does swell, then maybe check fuel pressure
good luck

Well I went for a ride today! Problem fixed! It was the fuel injector. I looked on you tube on how to clean injectors with them in place and it worked. Thanks for all your help Mudpie great to have people out there helping others. Thanks again and have a great new year

tested 2004 rxp
glad to hear ya found the problem
dont know why were seeing 150 and your not?
maybe someone could chime in on proper compression!?
